Unfortunately, many people hate the nose they see in the mirror every morning. This may be for different reasons; it could be too large or too wide, or it has a bulbous tip or flaring nostrils; the bridge may look like a speed bump or maybe it’s crooked from an injury when they were younger. Not liking their noses, many people may lose their confidence and self-esteem.
Rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping surgery, aims to bring the nose into better proportion with the rest of the face, improving the shape, size, and symmetry of it. When performed by a skilled, qualified cosmetic surgeon, rhinoplasty procedure can be life-enhancing and rewarding. Patients often notice that their overall appearance has charmed, as the nose they see now looks like the nose they have always wanted. Eventually, this will result higher self-confidence.
A complete septorhinoplasty will not be necessary for every patient. However, it may be required for some patients to undergo a portion of the procedure, such as reducing only part of the dorsal hump, refining the nasal tip or performing an alarplasty. An alarplasty involves removing a small wedge from the outside of the nostrils to decrease their size and width if needed.
